Heat

Too windy so the day was called. However, we had the pleasure of spending the several hours in the 40C+ heat in the paddock before the day was cancelled. It was just too hot to do much of anything. I spent the day laying in the shade or in air-conditioned buildings.
There is much less wind this morning, so it looks like we should be able to fly today. It also looks like a nice day to test fly my glider (during the competition!).

Hello Tom,

Still here following everything, including the terrible news about the death of the Norwegian pilot.
Anyway, Davis Straub mentioned something on his report about a certain way that you have to install the tip wands in order not to have a turn on the glider.
Can you investigate on that for us and find out how shall we do it? If you could provide some pics would be nice. He mentions that Craig Comber is the pilot who showed him that.

Take care man and keep up the good work, Enjoy the heat, right now is 25 deg F. here.

Cheer,

Marcelo

They now mark the tip wands right/left and top with a black permanent marker. I don't know how they determine which way is "up", but heard it has something to do with the way the carbon is wound.

I will try to find out.
